Welcome to Potkook, where time gently unwinds, and the world gracefully yields to the splendour of nature. Here, you’ll find the rare privilege of an exclusive mountain sanctuary, waiting just for you.

Set atop the Piketberge’s serene western slopes, overlooking Aurora village, our Private Nature Reserve invites you to an untouched fynbos wonderland with endless Atlantic vistas and the rugged allure of the Cederberg, offering a highly-sought after sanctuary experience barely a two-hour drive from Cape Town.

The exciting rediscovery of old documents resurrected the historical name of Potkook. This tale unveils the origin of the farm’s name, rooted in a bygone era when the proprietor held the clandestine title of the local moonshine maker. Whenever curious neighbours inquired about his distillation efforts, his response was invariably, “Die pot kook” (The kettle is boiling).

Potkook’s logo draws inspiration from the beautiful Pincushion Protea flower, which embodies both delicacy and strength, its open petals revealing its beauty without hidden layers. This symbolism of ‘what you see is what you get’ reflects one of Potkook’s core values: Authenticity.
